Chapter Sixteen
The Doughnut Goes South

“Any more business?”, asked Dumbledalf, “No?, then let us repair to the pub as Mr Sewell has suggested, and tomorrow we must set off for the South. We could perhaps pay a visit to The Eagle and Flag. I have an inkling that Vol-au-vent himself might make an appearance there, since he fancies himself as a raconteur”.

After a few more trivialities, those that were going to the pub set off together. Incredibly, there were nine of them, somehow, by some freak, fate-filled chance, their number matched and counterbalanced the nine, ex-bicycling, sore-bottomed post-grads sent by the evil, doughnut-eating creep himself. The next day they set off on their almost completely uneventful journey.
